Although this is specific to a Triumph, it is highly relevant to Nortons.

Wayne's Triumph Motorcycles

I met Wayne at the OVM Corvallis show this year. He a very nice gentleman and I hope to get up to Seattle to see the collection one of these days.
 
My method is a bit different..

1) Go to a dealer and pick out a new bike.
2) Keep it for 35 years until it becomes a classic.

Worked for me...

I was a bit behind the curve on this... I waited until they were unfashionable ...I was at school when they were new!

I've had a couple of them over 20 years now :)
