over the summer i had some time and sticks of steel to build a test dummy to mount a Givi top box on a Norton. the photo shows the test dummy, and the cad drawing is how the final production aluminum item should look.
Please don't take this as a criticism but why do you want the box so high?
And if you want to put any decent weight in there you know doubt already how easy a commando seat loop bends?
The 850 frame is a bit better with the bracing by the shock mounts but they still bend easily, the easiest place to triangulate the rack is to mount stiffener arms to the rear footrests mount, cheers
remember i said test dummy, the final effort will be about 2 " lower, i want it as close to the back of the seat as possible but still provide enough clearance to pull the interstate seat out.
It looks like it just hangs backwards hooked in at the top and is retained by the seat knobs
With today's pot holes roads (in the UK) I'd be concerned about the rack trying to lift every time you hit a bump
I'd like to look at it more closely
