Thinking about buying a new MK 111 gearchange quadrant lever . Managed to bust off the upper tooth on mine whilst overtightening something , the tooth was rested against the upper slot in the gearbox . Anyways , I've noticed there is a possible difference in MK 111 vs. Pre- MK 111 ones . Price too . What are any differences ? They look the same to me . Thanks .

Price difference may be caused by AN selling NOS items for the Mk3 vs. remanufactured quadrants for the pre-Mk3 version. Once NOS quadrants are gone, I expect to see a 100% price increase.

I don't understand that.
The only way I can think of for a tooth to break off would be if the camplate gear was not in mesh with the quadrant when the camplate bolt was tightened.

Must be it then .
But how would not realize that? The end Quadrant shaft would be deep in the hole and the bolt would be hard to start to thread. You had the whole end of the gear box to see what was going wrong if you looked when the Quad didn't slide into the O ring and protrude slightly above the boss on the gear box.

The quad was never removed , only the camplate ( to peen fit a new type of neutral button from A.N. ) was removed to do this . Looks like reassembly went wrong as I tightened up the camplate central bolt ? The top one of the 9 small teeth broke off . At present it's just a roadblock in my 2 nd. MK111 restoration , the other Interstate MK 111 is on the road running beautifully .

SH-it Happens . The same idea , the cam plate would not be fully home if the gears didn't mesh. I've made bigger mistakes.
