Hm, cleaned up to look as good as my hammer'd out shell. Way to go and learning what can be done.

It was some crowsh*t weld (and epoxy) I think, still haven't quite worked it out what the hell they did

Milled, pressed piece in, check bearing offsets and 3 stitch welds then JB weld. Ready for assembly. Not sure re paint finish, may strip off yet.

Thanks. Assume last comment Cj was a joke? I had to machine out the old mess and light press that it in so it would need centralising and machine shop which is outside scope of most without access to machines. Best.

Well I finally got my bike through the mot test today and the gearbox changes gears well now it has oil in it. Thanks to Angie and Mick Hemmings who sold me a second hand gear cluster for only £100 which I mixed with mine and only needed buy one new gear.
