Hi All.
My P11 A has a 20 theeth sprocket.
What is the differences to drive with the stock 19 theeth?.
Thank you.
Piero

20 tooth sprocket would reduce engine speed a little over 5% from stock. I doubt you would notice a difference in acceleration, especially if you went with flat top pistons, raising compression from 7.5 to about 9:1

My G15CS came with a 17 tooth
Atlas and Ranger generally came with 19 tooth
Commando generally ranged from 20 to 25 (25 for Interstate by request)

Hi Bill,
my N15 has 23 theet!
May be the previous owners changed it?
I have never drive the bike because is completely desmount for restoring.
Do you think is better to change the sprocket with one with less theet?
Thanks.
Piero

It depends on how you plan to ride. 17 to 19 would be great for acceleration around town. 20 to 23 would be more for highway (autostrada)

The normal owner would as said fell very little difference however the change might cause
the need of a crank link being fitted to get correct adjustment.

Hi Andy
Sorry but i cannot able to translate/understand.
Please, could you let me understand.
Thank you.
Piero

A crank link is a method to shorten or lengthen a chain by 1 pitch.

If you this in a chain it is important as you will not get full use of your
in life terms if it is not used as the chain will reach the end of adjustment
before it is worn.

Many old Brit bikes need crank links in both primary and or rear.

These are not available for Jap or HD chains hence the problems whyere
they are used.

That is a single crank, can do away with the need for a connecting link but not very
safe.

A double crank link riveted into the chain the right way round, see old posts, is
very safe and regardless of warnings will not affect the performance of the chain.
