Thanks for sharing - some real inspiration there.

Was it my imagination or did he pass over the 'S' a bit too fast?
(yes, I'm building one - just haven't decided the colour yet  )

Great to see so much quality in one place at once though 8)

Washington Crossing Historical Park, PA. http://www.dvnr.org/

Ya, I was a bit confused too, because there was a meet this weekend near Charlotte, NC.

I'm thinking that yellow S belongs to TJKII, but I'm not positive. Maybe he could clue us in.

Thanks for sharing the video. It was a blue 750s I saw as a teen back in then day that started the Commando madness for me . Cheers

Hi All,
Yes, that is TJKII's "S" in yellow. Sorry I wasn't a bit more heads up about the vid Dave. Just found it and sent it to you as you are in my address book. One of those hurried things. The event is growing larger each year and attracting some really cool stuff. Things that weren't seen on the vid were a blue S and a friends JPN To see more of the show participants just google "gathering of the Nortons 2012" . It is held on a Sunday around tax day each year at Washingtons Crossing state park in Bucks co. PA.

Ride Safe,

Tom

Man, all that British iron in one place! And, it's only about 45 miles from me and some great roads down along the Delaware; 611 and River Road - very nice. Makes me really sorry I couldn't go.

Hey, Tom, who has that blue S in the second video, right at the start?

I'll have to see if I can't get mine in the P/U next year, I'm not riding it all the way to Buck's County. Maybe I could borrow a horse trailer.

Hi Dave,

I don't know who had the blue S. It came in later and left earlier. I did notice that it had a single carb conversion. Didn't check to see who's. A really pretty bike. Oh, I did notice myself on the second pass vid. I'm wearing the brown sweatshirt holding the bottle of water looking at the bikes in the second row. (reserved for other british)
My cover is now blown.

Anyway a really great event. Norton was flawless down and back. I wish I could say the same of my TR6R. My friend Paulie rode it down and my friend Norm hauled it and Paulie back in his van. Snapped a clutch cable leaving the event.

AMCA national meet this weekend at Oley, PA. Some Brit stuff there too. Cafe racers the featured bikes of the meet so I would imagine that will swell the Brit popoulous.

Thanks for posting my foreward,

Tom

Nelson, thanks for those links. One of these days...

Tom, I never realized your S was yellow. I always think of the S models as blue for some reason.

I've got new anodized slides and carb parts and it the idle seems much better now. I almost feel like I can take my hand off the throttle, but it's a habit hard to loose after all these years.

Dave,
I didn't choose the colour. The tank had already been rebuilt, painted and decaled when i bought it. I just wanted to put it together and make sure things were OK before i spent any $ on a paint job. I was told that it was originally fireflake red by a PO. Truthfully, I don't like the colour. So, after I am pleased with the break in etc. I'm going to paint it the original red. Besides, if it is red, I'll have two red, two blue and two gold bikes.
