Where oh where are all the gas tanks? I have a 1973 850 roadster and would like to acquire another fuel tank to replace my dented steel one/

There seems to be an ample supply of fibreglass ones available. There's a nice looking Fireflake Blue one on ebay right now (not mine, but just like my blue one). Won't rust or dent! Of course they do have some issues with cracking and dissolving...

If you want steel, well so does everyone else. $300-400 should buy you a rusted dented one with bad paint on ebay. If you're lucky it might not leak too much...

Good steel tanks are hard to find. Many people are looking to replace their early Roadster fiberglass tank with a steel one, making the supply of good steel tanks scarce. Norvil sells an alloy Roadster tank, but at that price I would consider sending your dented tank to Ross Thompson to be opened up and straightened.

Otherwise I can only suggest you keep your eyes open at swap meets and the INOA classified site.

How badly is it dented? There are some skilled artisans that can remove dents and probably for a lot less than buying a replacement. I had an atlas tank repaired to like new condition.

snowed in and bored

You really need to get a life!

Snowed in? Huh?

Just rode this morning up to Pocono Raceway (100 mi north from my home) with a few guys to watch bikes practice on the track. Our local BMW dealer invited us up - their "team guy" was doing laps to adjust his motor.

Was about 50 riding up, near 70 on the way home - had to stop and remove some of the stuffing between me and the stich!

My site will be ready for public viewing in a few days, with many Norton pix!

Springtime in the Rockies. Two day ago, temps in the 70s. Today, highs in the 30s with eight inches of heavy wet snow on the ground. Blah.
