G15 Specialty Tools & Stator Purchase

Hey All,

Got the 1964 G15CS/N Motor in my basement, starting to disassemble now.

Are there any specialty tools that i will need to have aside from the clutch nut adjuster and valve rocker spindle puller tool? (I have gear pullers, case splitters, clutch basket vise grips, torque wrenches, etc) I have all the basic tools but I currently don't have access to a full blown shop where i can fabricate / grind / DIY my way into tools that get the job done.

Also, my stator seems to be toast, rotor is fine though - it seems to me this is something i can go reproduction on. I'd like to get high quality stuff, but I don't need everything to be original per se. Recommendations for brand of the stator or where i can get one? Here's what I'm planning to get

Hello, Oscar; I recommend the Crank. Pinion Puller, p/n ET2003. Mark
 
I was able to disassemble mine completely with no specialty tools, just the various gear I have, similar to you. My oil pump came off relatively easily with tire irons for levers, making sure they were doing no damage to the case. Warmed up area and sprayed like usual. For assembly I did buy the timing gear jig, have yet to get to that though.

The rocker spindles were no problem using a suitable bolt, a socket and washers to adjust. I warmed up the head and made sure the threads went in plenty far. I'm sure the tool is nice but it was straightforward, out and in no probs.
