G15-CSR footpegs vs. CS

Hi everyone...

In my unending series of G15-related questions here, can anyone provide details/pics of the G15-CSR footpeg and control arrangement vs. the CS?

I prefer a more rearward bias to my footpegs, mid-set like a modern dirt bike, vs. the "sitting in a chair" stock CS position. (Makes posting up more difficult in the rough, and I'm just used to it from my other bike...) Wondering if the CSR gear provides anything close to what I'd want, or if it's too high/racy of a position for me, but good detailed photos are hard to come by...

Best I can see, the shorter brake arm mounts by its pivot to the frame tab on which the passenger pegs currently mount, and the CSR style footpeg takes the place of the stock brake pivot? Something like that? No passenger pegs possible with the CSR?

I could probably craft something out with a mounting plate and a set of tarozzi rearsets, but if there's a stock solution that'd be awesome. (Got other issues to attend to before any of this, but just thinking ahead...)

Thanks for the insight.

Thanks! Those photos tell me everything I need to know...I will stick with the stock arrangement. I need the passenger pegs on this one for sure and am definitely not up to casting my own parts!

I just saw the picture dated 2010 of the G15csr and noticed the primary cover had a cover over the stator. I have an early G15cs/109919 that was taken apart in the late 1960's and sat ever since very unmolested. My primary cover looks just like the picture but no cover and no provision for attaching it. Any ideas?

You are probably confused by one of the images. There is no "cover in the cover". The stator attaches to the outer primary cover by 3 small stud bolts. Centralising the stator is a bit fiddly - look for another thread on the subject. After hooking up the leads and installing the gasket, the outer cover is fixed to the inner cover by 14 screws and on some models a stud bolt and nut additionally.

The area of my outer cover that covers the stator was removed with a milling machine leaving a 4 1/2 hole. Your picture looked as if someone had taken it one step further and added a cover, just curious.

You are referring to the first link.
So it seems, not genuine of course. Sorry, I don't know anything about the bike.

I don't think an aperture helps in centralising the stator. You wuldn't reach the stud bolt nuts anyway.
Maybe the objective is to ease ignition timing without having to pull the outer primary cover?
It would be nice to fit a Commando inspection cap (p/n 06.0659) but with no boss providing sufficient thread length (the cap will be partly recessed), I doubt a cap can be fitted unless you do some welding.
