Full summer Norton

Im ready

Good thing with our weather in Aussie land is we can ride all year round even in winter, I like it when it gets cold here but only gets down to about 6c and the Norton runs so good when it does get cold but at the moment we are getting so hot here this morning it was ove 30c at 7 am, I have so much work to do up in the shed but is so hot up there even with a cool sea breeze blowing.

Your bike looks "right some good" Mike ... have a good summer on the Norton ... when it arrives ...

Looks great!
With one exception... those header pipes need serious cleaning or replacement. Look like they belong on a barn find, not a clean machine like yours.

It's a good feeling, knowing it's just a matter of checking tyre pressures - back in the day I spent most weekends watching other bikes riding past my folks' house while I was in the garage repairing the damned thing!

Having experienced your Chicago (Rockford, to be precise) winters, I know what you mean - I never saw an 'Ice storm' or knew what one was up until then.
We never got above the upper 20s Celsius here last summer, but we rarely have more than a few days below zero in winter either.

I've seen one or two original steel hi-rider tanks, and some folks have managed to make a go of the Indian Fastback copies, but I eagerly await the day when Emgo decide to make a steel Fastback tank - their Roadster number is a great product, and I really hope they're listening!
There must be a viable market out there - Anyone know the numbers produced for Fastbacks vs. Roadsters?

Very nice. Mine is suppose to be yellow too, I believe. The underbelly of my tank and one side cover look like they were originally yellow. My Header pipes are in the same condition as yours and are hard to find for under $200 US.
Consider yourself Lucky, Last night it was -24 degrees Celsius here and we have about 15cm of snow. I don't think they make chains for motorcycles.

It was a barn find. Sat in a Wisconsin barn for the best part of 20 years. Still a work in process. I kind of like the "patina" as it were. Function over visuals.
I need a steel fuel tank next.

Aha! Def understand 'work in progress'. 'tis the winter of my dis-assembly. or more specifically, my Commando dis-assembly.
I just got nice header pipes from Commando Specialty for reasonable $.

Its all year riding where I live but just lately its been too hot even at night ( nearly 30 degrees [ not like Perth WA which is 40 at moment ])
Winter hardly gets below 10 degrees, and the only thing that stops me riding is the rain we get [ or the lack of time ] though once I'm on the road, its tough shit if it rains. That's the beauty of having a shit box rider as well as an ornament.
