In my excitement to get my 961 fired up again after its its respite /lacuna/hiatus ,I removed the fuel tank in order to gain access to the battery to recharge it,Im aware there's a fly lead at the rear, but I had to fix one direct onto the battery on my arrival in Canada & charge it with a Canadian charger,as this was another diff plug connector I needed to fit the opitmate one to replace it so as I'm back home with the opitmate 4 , hooked up batt with lead & charged away, & then oops , tank dropped to floor & the little red plastic nozzle broke off,so needed this like a hole in the head.
Called Norton central & discovered this little red plastic piece is unavailable on its own,had anyone else suffered this self inflicted school boy error or am I alone , the Italian firm "Birton" make the fuel pump,on viewing eBay it appears this red nozzle is also used on moto guzzi ,fuel pump complete is north of £300,I realise it's a sensitive component that needs its integrity to be unmolested ,so looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet & buy a new one unless anyone know s any different ?
