Hmm. You're right about that Les. I never looked. I just assumed it worked like that since I got it that way. If I empty one side, I always have about 3 pints left in the other. But I always tended not to let it get that low unless unavoidable.

I tried two main petcocks together on my 1977 Roadster Mk3, I thought the other half on the bottom of the tank would by enough to reach the next filing station. After opening the second main the fuel lasted only about 5 km. With a reserve petcock it will last about 30 km.

People almost always stop to help out a stranded Norton rider. Had 3 offer help my last break down (Boyer). 1 st offered cel phone. 2 nd gas and sympathy. Trailered home an hr. later ,gave him (3 rd one) gas money and thanks. You need good reserve.
