Fuel level check with the carbs mounted

Hi All
Once it warms up a bit i want to check the carb fuel level with the carbs mounted.
The Burlem site give a figure for the fuel level to be between 4,.3mm to 6.3mm below the bowl face
So when using the "U" tube method into the drain bung hole at what position along the bowl should the measurement be taken.... as the carb sits at a slight angle off the horizontal
 
I wonder if it could mean 4.3mm at the engine side and 6.3mm at the air filter side to take into account the slight angle of the carbs. So 5.4mm in the centre.
 
Have to agree with this, Amal knew what they were doing, as usal it's the outsiders who use their products that come along and f**k everything up!
 
Well, it wouldn't matter really as 5.4mm would be in the middle of the tolerance anyway.
