Next, I replaced the Brembo by the 12.5 mm resleeved Norton MC and this was a big improvement: the bike brakes almost as good as a modern one now.

Having an incorrectly sized Brembo m/c is no better than an incorrectly sized stock Norton m/c. Size matters. In this case, smaller is better. A 16mm master is the right size for a 4 piston 41mm caliper setup.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to reduce the size of the Brembo MC so that explains my choise for resizing the original Norton one.

I've just had an opportunity to try out my standard setup with resleeved cylinder, and I'm pretty happy with it.
It's too early to say if it'd be up to snuff for a hooligan bike, but indications so far are good...not a 2-fingers-squealing-the-tyre type brake, but feels good and strong.
