Is there a general rule about the age of commando fork springs and when to replace? I notice on 3 Commandos I have that the bikes really squat down when I take it off the center stand.
 
Mine are still the originals and seem to be fine. I suppose you could rig up something to measure the poundage but if the bike rides ok why worry?

they are springs, like valve springs if the free length is still like new , or in the case of fork springs within a few mm then they should be good to go.
