Another quick question on the asembly ofthe Roadholder forks – when threading the fort top nuts into the stanchion, the damper tube is also threaded into the nut. On my bike, with the Landsdowne dampers and alloy nuts (a lovely bit of kit), the damper rod seem to rotate enough that the rod only seems to engage with a couple of threads.

What’s the best procedure for this? Push the slider up high so that the nut can first be screwed onto the damper rod (how far?) and then screw into the stanchion?

That's how i do it.

Steve ,
First; The damper rod/tube must be screwed onto the alloy top nut and pinched up firm. NOT TIGHT just a good nip. the leverage using a 33mm wrench and a 17mm spanner can strain the threads, Not sure from your post ,but are you trying to fit the rod and top nut into the stanchion together? which is impossible.

OK, thanks for clearing that up John. Slight case of brain fade after spending ages getting a new caliper adaptor plate to line up correctly ;-)
Really looking forward to trying out the new fork bits
Cheers,
Steve.
