fork clamps

I have a very good set of clamps and headlight ears from an Atlas and I would like to use them on a Commando. Is this possible? Didn't the Fastback have this arrangement? The bearing races are different, one uses the loose balls, the other uses ball bearings

You might want to check the offset between the fork tube centers and the center of the stem. If it is different, you could end up altering the handling, and not necessarily in a good way.

I think an Atlas has the same rake as a manx - 24.5 degrees where a commando has 27 degree rake. A manx would be expected to use more offset. If you use too much offset with a 27 degree rake, the bike can stand up and turn the wrong way when you are braking. It might also be difficult to tip into corners. If you try this, just be very careful to note what the bike is doing under brakes, when you first ride it. If you get it really wrong, the problem can come from nowhere and grab you by the throat.

The Commandos that used ball races were later than the Commandos that used Atlas type yokes and ball races and balls.
