Hi All.

Im trying to work out how to get the gear change lever working with the RGM folding kick start lever. Im running the Norvil prod rearsets. The standard Mk1 gear change lever reversed doesnt clear the kickstart lever when its folded. One option is to heat it with the oxy and try out some different angles.

I see that RGM has got a JPN 45 degree angled gear lever for use in the reverse position. Has anybody got one of these fitted along with the folding kick start lever? Hard to see how it would work in practice as the spline end of the lever seems to be in the way regardless.

Cheers.

Heres a solution I came up with when faced with the same issues, A bit of fussing about but basicly a spring loaded dog clutch, pull outwards then twist up or down, then once she's fired up twist back and it snaps home, works well.

Nice one Freddy, but to get back to the post, is it the boss that's too big ie it sticks out too far.

This is an interesting idea. May be worth investigating if I cant get an off the shelf solution.

Here is the prod racer setup. Because they had a one-off kicker which folds at the top rather than the RGM one which folds at the bottom spline end its not quite the same but the reverse lever here looks like just the standard 750 lever. Does anyone have the JPN angled lever installed in the reverse position? Im trying to avoid the linkage setup if possible. Much tidier without.

Alternatively, anyone know where I can get kicker like this?

That kick lever is the standard one heated and straightened out, it can be done.

Kickstarts for AMC box designed for off road use should clear gear levers and rear set footrests no problem. Available from Speed and Sport in the USA................
