I just finished this bike (pending a few details including tach cable), and will be taking to a regional British / European rallye this weekend, with the intent to sell it. It is a project I've had ongoing for over 3 years, and I need to let it go now that I've got my Combat Commando.
I really appreciate this forum, and it's members, so I'm offering it up (at the last minute, sorry), in case one of y'all want it.

Here's the "poop" and pix:
1970 / 72 NORTON COMMANDO ROADSTER - $7,500.00
ENGINE - 1970
Freshly overhauled top end - .040 oversize pistons & rings in re-bored cylinders. Valves lapped, new intake valve seals. Barnett clutch friction plates with additional stuffer plate for optimal stack height (easy clutch lever pull). Transmission and bottom end thoroughly cleaned and inspected, found to be within specs. All engine covers highly polished, crankcases previously chromed. Single Mikuni carburetor with K&N air filter mounted on “Sonny Angel” manifold. Additional crankcase breather added at rear inside of timing chest for better engine breathing.
CHASSIS – 1972
Freshly powdercoated frame, swingarm, transmission cradle and various other parts. New adjustable Isolastic retrofit on rear engine/tranny mount, standard Isolastic on front. Freshly overhauled forks with new stanchions, seals & bushings, polished legs. Head and Swingarm bearings refurbished. Like-new Hagon rear shocks.
WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES
(FRONT) Very good condition standard wheel & spokes, bearings repacked. Very good condition Dunlop Roadmaster TT100x19 tire. Drilled disc brake, caliper polished & freshly overhauled, master cylinder freshly overhauled and painted.
(REAR) Very good condition standard wheel & spokes, bearings repacked. Very good condition Dunlop Roadmaster TT100x19 tire. Drum brake refurbished.
CYCLE PARTS
Fiberglass gas tank (either option), refurbished oil tank, very good condition original fenders, NVT instruments in highly polished cups, powdercoated side & center stands, new & very good used cables, new chainguard, new headlight bucket, most fasteners freshly Cadmium plated.
ELECTRICAL
Refurbished original (72) wiring harness with new Sparx electronic ignition system and new 6 volt coils, refurbished hand control quadrants, refurbished head & tail lights, new battery, new key switch, and refurbished zener diode, rectifier & capacitor.
OPTIONS
(BODYWORK) Black tank with fiberglass left sidecover, steel right sidecover, and reupholstered Roadster seat, OR Red tank with steel sidecovers, Corbin Gunfighter seat, and red trimmed hand grips, (add $250 for Red options). (HANDLEBARS) Choice of standard, clubman or drag bars. (EXHAUST) OEM headers with “Norton” stamped Peashooter mufflers, OR crossover-style headers with choice of “Bean Can” or new replica Dunstall “Decibel” mufflers.
MISCELLANEOUS
The chassis serial number tag has been stamped to match the engine number (1970) for ease of obtaining title & registration. A notarized affidavit of facts concerning origin of engine and chassis can be provided if required. Bike is sold with Bill Of Sale only.
This bike started on the first kick after overhaul and developed good oil pressure in less than ten seconds. It starts, idles, runs, and handles very well. It has minimum oil weepage, and very little exhaust smoke. Acceleration and braking are excellent.
