For sale, ! 1 Quart of vintage BSA 50 wt. oil, in pristine condition.

Might be better off listing elsewhere , not much traffic flows through the Bsa section , its like the poor cousin of the others .🤣🤣

I remember seeing a video where an engineer was sent a can of 1960(ish) motor oil. It was something like Quaker State with no SAE or weight. He tested this oil for viscosity, burning, molecule break down and a host of other things. That old oil just went to pieces under stress. Modern oils have a lot to do with modern engine longevity.

Let's not forget engine oil has an unopened shelf life of around 5 years so I doubt anyone would actually be using it

Back in the 2000s I was unemployed and looking for leads. I happened to become interested in several professorial organizations one of which was for engineers. They had great speakers, snacks and all for only $5. I met a woman who was a petroleum engineer. Being from Texas this always meant you worked in oil exploration but this lady worked in oil product formulation. Her talk was fascinating covering the engineering, at the molecular level, of modern oils and wear preventives. It was almost like the variations in the design of plastics with complex strings of polymer chains. It was cool stuff of which I understood very little.
