Fluid levels determination

There's book learning and down and dirty lesions to guide various things in life. On my old tractor and old motorcycles I found optimal fluid levels, gas tanks to trannies to engine and forks and primary by some what over filling then seeing where they ended up after expelling excess. Roadholders max out just short of hydrolock with 175 ml of lube, primary throws out oil or ATF if filled above chain sag dip level, oil tank fill just to end tip of dip stick and gas tanks about an inch below cap but can't over fill the cradle spindle leaker or put too much oil on drive chain oiler. Brake fluid about 3/8" deep works for my bouncing and leaning. I've almost fully top off ign coil oil every few decades.

The best thing in my shed is my messuring cup, I fill all fluids by the book and have never had any problems with over filling, I found that using the fill cube in the gearbox it puts more oil in than what the book says and probly why some have troubles with oil going down the clutch rod, i have never had this problem.

Good on you Ashely as some few also marry child hood sweat hearts to live happy ever after too. Measured amounts only possible if filling from dry not top offs on trips or before leaving home. Definitely less clutch fouling filling a bit under in AMC's, which are about the only thing that needs complete over fill flooding now and then to oil the stuff otherwise rusting in outer cover and the sleeve bushes which lie below oil level and can't receive any while spinning in lower gears. Btw even my factory nothing improved on Combat stays nice if I don't kick up heels so style of operation matters in marriages too.

I married my child hood sweet heart but I was 30 years old when I did, but I liked my freedom and the best part about it she understands and lets me do what ever I like, she also buys my beer for me when she is out shopping, the only thing she doesn't do is fill the beer fridge, grounds for devorce I recond :lol:

Ignition coil? Now where do you get the PCP oil for that? I haven't seen that one in the manual, but I don't read more than 10 minutes at a time, it confuses me.

Ashely you got it made in the shade mate. I reasoned that a similar grade oil would work in the low Lucas coils so used redish air compressor oil instead of the clear-ish oil I could see if tipped to drip. About 1/3-1/4 low from evaporation I guess or maybe that's all they put in. Just avoid completely full hydraulics w/o an air space for temp expansion. I once tried to seal an oil fill an Lucas ameter to see if dampened needle but tossed it d/t leaking down head light and yokes. I wised up and didn't wire up the dummy ammeter in my current Cdo.
