floppy turn signals

It is not uncommon for the turn signal pod to suddenly flop downwards while riding...often. Tightening the nut is touchy..I've seen many a broken pod. I'm thinking of using glue on the stalk and the pod and lightly tighten the nut. Anybody else do that?

I think I used a little blue loctite on the part that threads into the flasher unit plastic

You could replace them with the later type where the head is keyed onto the shaft and has no outside nut only a washer as I've never had that happen. Sorry I'm not at home at the moment so no photographs.
