Is there a fix for Triumph ('74 T100) passengers pegs that want to flop down ? It does not look like there is anything to keep them folded. The right side one is a nuisance when trying to kick start the bike.

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg,

As far as know there's no real solution except nip the nuts up a little tighter. My Bonnie's the same.

All the best

At least your passenger pegs are attached to the frame. When I had my Ariel Leader, my girl-friend complained all the time about getting kicked in the feet. I hadn't realised that, because of the box-beam frame design on that bike, the passenger pegs were attached to the swing arm. Every time we went over a bump, she got kicked! No wonder she didn't like that bike. I guess it didn't matter that much - it'll be our 50th wedding anniversary in 2014!

Have the same type of passenger pegs on a Matchless. Annoying! I use a 3/4" wide inner tube slice and twist it around each side of the folding joint so it acts as a rubber band to hold the peg upright.

Whatdyaspect? it's not a Norton. :P

It's funny, after working on Nortons for all these years the Triumph seems very different. I would have thought that they would be more similar since the engineers in the Britsh motorcycle industry seemed to move from factory to factory.

The rubber band idea seems like a good one at this point...

1st, check that the holes in the footrest and mounting brackets have not worn oval with age/vibration.
Redrilling them to fit a larger size bolt is the quick fix answer if they have.
You could try the rubber tap washer if you have enough side clearance, just drill out the hole to a bolt size on a tap washer and insert it between the footrest and hanger.
