That looks like Lt Green/Brown to me. If so, it's one side of the flasher and the common wire for the turn signal switch. the turn signal side of the Lucas consol has a matching Lt Green/Brown wire. Can anybody, please, tell me what the wire in my hand is doing? I cannot seem to locate in the diagram I have. It’s light blue’ish/greenish/“tiffany” color.
I’m trying to fit the Lucas switch to my bike. I figured out the low/high beam, there are color matching wires for turn signals, I’m trying to figure out where to fit the flasher unit (the wiring was somewhat modified by the previous owner, so, That’s fun) And I know that the white wire is usually hot, but, so far, nothing changes whether it’s connected or not…
Where are you located - you may be near someone who could get you sorted in a few minutes.
On pre-MK3 bikes that had turn signals, the flasher goes on the frame cross member in the middle of the bike. The flasher gets a white wire and a Lt Green/Brown wire and that Lt Green/Brown wire will have 12 volts with no load and when everything is connected it will switch between 0 and 12 volts making the turn signals flash when the turn signal is selected.
