That's nice. That's exactly the space where you're wiring connectors are gonna have to go. You might want to rethink that before you get too involved.I ended up modelling and 3D printing a new mounting bracket for the Boyer electronic ignition. If you would like to print one, you can find the file and instructions here.

Anyway, I am making a new wiring loom and the plan is to have all the connections in the headlight shell. So there should be space under the tank.
Are the Kegler clamps supposed to stop the cross tube from distorting under load ? I would probably engineer a thicker-walled cross tube.

What do you do to waterproof them? Or do you simply mount them in a dry environment?I've 99% quit using bullets at all. I use WAGO 221 connectors now. They cost less, require no tools, and mixing different sized wires is no issue. WAGO is a German company: https://www.wago.com/global/electri...stallation-terminal-blocks-and-connectors/221 . Should it be needed, they have a US HQ in Maryland with technical support. They tell me that the 221 line is made in Germany.
With bullets, a simple two-wire connection is two bullets into a connector - that takes quite a big of space. With WAGO 221, the connections can be inline when it makes sense but normally, side-by-side takes a lot less space and makes more sense. The last bike I wired used three inline WAGO connectors, and 2, 3, and 5 wire side-by-side connectors and no bullets. I have ONE wire-to-wire connection, one engine ground ring terminal, and two ring terminals to the coils (Tri-Spark Ignition) and no other connections under the tank - everything related to the headlight, handlebar consoles, instrument lights, etc. easily fit in the headlight shell.
Quick answer: Nothing! Quick Statement: British bikes have been just fine for a VERY long time without waterproof connectors. What do you do to waterproof them? Or do you simply mount them in a dry environment?
I saw your classified and was thinking about contacting you. I was in Danmark right before Christmas (wife is Danish), but I forgot it.Project is looking good, I like your ideas about mounting the ignition unit, and I'll probably nick your 3D file
If you're still looking for a set of 30mm Premiers, I have a new, never been used set for sale in the Classified section. I'm in Copenhagen.
Whereabouts in Norway are you? We were up there last year, but it's (very) long placeI saw your classified and was thinking about contacting you. I was in Danmark right before Christmas (wife is Danish), but I forgot it.
I also went to visit FSA Norton in Allingåbro, but they had closed for Christmas. But lots of nice British bikes and rebuilt engines on display.
Om located in Stavanger, South-West coast. Pop me a PM and lets see of we can work something out.Whereabouts in Norway are you? We were up there last year, but it's (very) long place
May very well be up again this year.
PM's only work for VIP members it seems. You can contact me via the classified ad. If you want different jetting, I can probably do this for you.Om located in Stavanger, South-West coast. Pop me a PM and lets see of we can work something out.
I could not find any contact button in your classified ad. Maybe it was removed when the PM functionality was removed for non-VIP members? Can you see my email in my contact details? No, I cannot see your email. PMs seem to be only for the VIP members, but considering the very low cost (currently $15 for 3 months) and all the benefits that this site gives, I think it's a very reasonable thing. Looking at the range of bike magazines available today, I get far more information (and enjoyment!!) from this and similar sites for rather less than subscribing to any of the print ones.
As a last resort, you could always post your email or other contact info here. I prefer not to do that, even on a members only site such as this, even though it's not difficult to find my email or phone number from open sources.
