Hi Everyone - I am experiencing some binding in the rear on my new 74 850. Something it biting in the rear when I go over bumps. The bigger the bump, the more it feels like the rear brake is quickly engaged. At first, I thought the previous owner had the rear cable too tight. I have loosened it a lot, and there is a lot of play in the rear brake. The problem still persists. The wheel spins freely on Center stand, and there is plenty of play in the pedal when engaged. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Gatsby

The brake cable doesn't happen to be routed (incorrectly) under the Z-plate?

I’m and idiot. I can’t believe I did not notice that. Thank you L.A.B.

Kommando - thank you for your response as well.

It's a fairly common mistake that's often seen in pictures of Commandos so I'd strongly recommend all pre-Mk3 owners check the rear brake cable is routed over and not under the Z-plate.
