I've installed these slides in a 1973 Norton 850, 7k miles, 1971 Triumph Trophy 650, 11k miles, and 1970 Triumph Tiger 650 5k miles. I'd have to say it was money very well spent. My Notron in particular had an eratic idle. Once warmed up ticking over at 1500 or so but would vary. Just not stable and I could not dial it in to a nice 1k smooth tickover.

Same with the 71 Triumph. The 70 was fine but I figured while I'm upgrading, just as well do them all.

Once the idle was set on the Norton, it works perfectly. 1k rpms no matter what and very stable. No fluctions at all. Used to drop rpm's slightly if I just rocked the throttle a little. Now it's solid. Same story on the Tiger. Very solid.

A very worthwhile upgrade IMO. Seems like my carbs were just slightly worn and these slides took up the slop perfection.

I'm sure the 71 will be the same but I have a fraying throttle cable that is hanging up the idle return so have to fix that first.

Just an FYI.

Very pleased with your post. I shall be getting a couple for my 850 very shortly.
Just got to finish undoing the disaster areas by the PO on the 750 first.

Thanks for the info, I was planning on getting a set and this has pushed me to do it faster.
