RT, the one and only time I saw SRV was in August of 1990 at the Mann music center in Philly. He opened up for Joe Cocker. He was amazing. He took his guitar, bounced it off the stage on the tremolo bar and kicked it right back into his hands. Very talented. This was about two weeks before he died in the helicopter crash while touring with Eric Clapton. The first time I saw Marcus King was at a small bar in Asbury Park , The Saint. 150 people, standing room only. At that time he wasn't old enough to drink. They toured in an old Ford F150 Econoline and pulled a MC trailer with their gear. Now he has a big bus . Anyway my first concert was in 1976 when Thin Lizzy opened up for Queen at the Philadelphia Civic Center.
