fav artists in different genres of music?

Good album collaboration with various artists if you like old people making music if you even consider it music
John Lee Hooker, The Healer

Howling Wolf is always good for a gravely folk blues tune

Seems before JLH recorded the: 'Hooker 'N Heat' album with Canned Heat, there was another up and coming young blues and boogie combo who's name was also put in the frame to record with the man..... Status Quo!!
That would've been interesting...

Have to take your word for it. I know nothing about Status Quo.

I had one, maybe two early Hooker records, but they were absconded by a X girlfriend. One or both of those records were mono, and predated Canned Heat by a few years. I got that Healer album on CD around the time my son was born in '89. Title track was the only thing that would put him to sleep when he was colicky for a month or so. I do have the Boogie with Canned Heat album in vinyl. I actually remember walking into Tower Records and buying it. Played the heck out of that back when it was radio or record player.

Sorry about the TMI spewing. I'm draining the fork oil out of my Ceriani forks in situ and have nothing better to do. :)

Bangles: Walk like an Egyptian

It's on my workout list. Nice tempo for peddling a bike on a trainer.

Google a video if that is your jam

While not usually a big Country Music fan , I was exposed to it daily back in my working life , listened to CBC fm morning then local am radio from noon on , mostly local news & country music …. a hockey buddy suggested we take our wives to Halifax to see the HighwayMen concert , and so we did … I was blown away first by size of crowd , then by those four men standing on stage singing all those great songs and telling the stories … was at end of their careers , only 2 left now and KK suffers with his memory , Willie well he just motors on in his cloud , still not a big country fan , but I love those four men and their music , one of my best memories out of long list of great concerts it either 1,2, or 3 best ever ….

Anyone in their early 70s will surely remember this song. Listen to Mick’s introduction – famous song, even more famous song writers:

Then listen to this early version - it's the one you will remember:

I'm always surprised to find things out many years later. I recently saw that Prince wrote Manic Monday and gave it to the Bangles.

Love the Stones.

Love that live version, not heard that before.

Thanks for posting.

Deep Purple: Mistreated
Live in California 1974....
Daivd Coverdale was not always my most favorite lead singer for Deep Purple ....Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar will always be my favorite.

Very few guitarists could do Hendrix justice. This guy was incredible. Eric Clapton once called him the best on the planet

My buddy and I would always play both Hendrix an Stevie Ray when we had a few red wine gatherings. Comparing notes:

Stevie was and "IS" one of the best R&B blues guitarist. RIP
I've got, Live at the elMocambo and Live from Austin Texas both DVD's and he Rocks.
I got most of double trouble LP's as well. He was very gifted and he always respected his roots.... BB King and Albert King. Two of the Greats...They were his insperation. He did things with the guitar that you couldn't even imagine.

They also do more like it - all excellent. For instance: For a Few Dollars More, A Fistfull of Dollars, The Godfather, Game of Thrones, Start Wars, and many more.
you need to watch the old spegetti western movies. they are classic.
"It's dynamite. you should send it back to them"...

Trust me - I've seen each one more than once and I see The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly at least once every five years!
