I love all the handles we each subscribe to our generally unseen faces and wonder how each came up with their choice. I was just enjoying warpedscouts first ride post and all the responses when it triggered me to ask this. Share with us how, why, what, who, and the background of your choice for a handle. I will go first.

ACEACECA

I graduated high school in 1966 and immediately got in my 62 Pontiac and headed to Pasadena, CA from Houston, TX. I was in junior college there at PCC and lived just off Colorado Blvd. on Michigan Ave. My dad who had come to a new job in L.A., knew a photographer for Shelby American which was then housed at the L.A. Airport Imperial Highway facility. He set up a tour of the place for me. At the time I was totally disinterested in sports cars. I did however take it all in and remembered how beautiful the cars were. Ten years later I am working in San Francisco. Out of the blue, I decide I need one of those cars. The Cobra was pricy for me then even though they were only about 6-10k as I remember. I ended up purchasing a 1956 AC Ace in Beverly Hills around Thanksgiving. It was powered by a 3.5 Jag engine. I had that car for some 30 yrs. and upgraded power to 260 Ford. In addition to the 56 Ace, which is the open cockpit roadster, I restored another 59 Ace. There was also an equally beautiful coupe manufactured by AC known as Aceca. I subsequently restored a 56 and then a 59 AC Aceca. Needless to say I have a lot of the limey DNA in me as my mom was a Scot and my dad a Brit. Actually, I am a Brit by birth. There you have it. I put Ace and Aceca together and that is my handle.

It's my username on Xbox Live but I use it on most forums. It's where I work so I better not get fired or laid off!

I don't have a neat story like yours. My last name is Comstock and my wife,s last name is Munoz. Put them together and Comnoz sounded better than Mustock. Jim

Who are you?

Ace my hobot handle goes back to beginning of my digital dumbness when online people to people communications were called bulletin broads and were kick started by manual dial up. Hobo 1 to 2-zillion taken, so phonetically went down alphabet till pronounceable then further narrowed by what not already taken. Then got involved with dropping off radar screen as hobot handle didn't connect with any real data base a long enough time it never will now so can tell ya my professional name, but any more and I'd have to eliminate the whole forum. ugh. Btw hobot is not a proper name so not worth a capitol case.

'71 As a young nerd bio/chemo major, was able to trick/trade a younger jock with a Kiwa 750 3 smoke buzz bomb for a half running '68 Cheetah 45-Ranger- drag only champion that was the quickest craft on the road - many states around but could not lean to turn. In '99 got a used Combat instead of used mower - by online help rebuilt it to quickest corning craft in many states around. Only half dozen $1000's and half dozen seasons till try out combing the two into one.

Safe Journey's all's ya alls'

I was "Uncle Vinny" on the radio (KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston, Texas) for over 8 years, meanwhile one of my Sisters started having kids so I really became "Uncle Vinny".

Hobot,
I hung out on the "Phone Freaks" BB for a long time!

Mine sorta came from a customer....Though new to Norton's...I have been working on Japanese bikes (Non-proper bikes i now know) for years. Customization to basic maintenance.
One day a customer had brought in a bike that looked as if it was in a ditch for a decade. It was his recently passed fathers bike, and he now wanted it running again. As a child he had fond memories of his father and this bike. (I think it was a 71 CB750). A Month later, I had the bike cleaned up looking new, and running perfect.(carbs rebuilt, tires, forks, valves...the works)
When I delivered the bike (part of my service is I pick up and deliver the customers motorcycle) The owner came out to greet me, he was crying...and as you all know, watching a grown man cry is always uncomfortable  . He told me that I must posses some sort of magic motorcycle powers. He was quite happy with the bike
I was moved by the emotion caused from my work on this bike, mind, it wasnt anything fancy, just a bone stock CB. I came up with Motoalchemy (I also use Motoalchemist) and just use it on forums. and my Email.
Alchemy, and ancient process of turning a base material into something useful using science and magic (this is my interpretation of it anyway). So i thought, lets put "moto" in front of Alchemy. If I ever open a proper motorcycle shop..this is what Ill call it

thats what inspired my screen name...a crying man.

I'm a psychologist. I teach at a University, I have a private practice in Beverly Hills, and I am the Director of the University Counseling Center. So about 50 times a day, someone will say, "I don't know- let's ask Doctor Day." So, now it's my email, my website, and my Norton Forum name amongst other things.

Ya Don't see motorcycles parked at shrinks clinics but the shrink's!

I refuse to divulge any secrets...
Apart from the fact that I live in Australia and I ride a Combat.
I wish I had something more exciting to tell you.
How about the day I was out checking the sheep on a farm, ( my first job after leaving school ), when I
rode through a swarm of bees wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and my work boots. That was exciting.
Such is life.

Mine is really simple. In high school all of my friends called me wolfie, my last name is Wolff. So when the digital age arrived and e-mail and user names were needed, I started using bwolfie, My first name is Brent. I wish it was a cooler story, but it is what it is.

Mine is also very simple, when Al Gore invented the internet, I started with jdr which are the first letters of my name, but after getting tired of deleting spam, I changed it to my surname followed by the first letters of my name always trying to keep it it as short as possible without being swamped by spam, so far so good.

Well, as I put in my post I started using this name in 2005 during my first government sponsored vacation to Iraqiland. I was with a Cavalry Troop and we were all Scouts (albeit I was the administrative NCO so I had to fend off nasty paper cuts as well). All the guys would say I was a little warped (like they were any better off after 6 months of incoming mortars and rockets) so I just started using warpedscout as my handle, sounded better than cuddly bear!

Steve is my first name and yacht goes back to the days when I was a consultant in the Yacht business, representing manufacturers and buyers. As I said, Was.

ntst8 ... there was a good reason at the time, i'm sure it will come to me...

I was disapointed when I found out Biggus_ Dickus was frowned on by the missus. She said it was inappropriate and ill fitting, continuing she reminding me that the biggest thing on any Irishman is his ego.
So, I humbly claimed allegiance with those I admire most. Ourselves.
