I love all the handles we each subscribe to our generally unseen faces and wonder how each came up with their choice. I was just enjoying warpedscouts first ride post and all the responses when it triggered me to ask this. Share with us how, why, what, who, and the background of your choice for a handle. I will go first.
ACEACECA
I graduated high school in 1966 and immediately got in my 62 Pontiac and headed to Pasadena, CA from Houston, TX. I was in junior college there at PCC and lived just off Colorado Blvd. on Michigan Ave. My dad who had come to a new job in L.A., knew a photographer for Shelby American which was then housed at the L.A. Airport Imperial Highway facility. He set up a tour of the place for me. At the time I was totally disinterested in sports cars. I did however take it all in and remembered how beautiful the cars were. Ten years later I am working in San Francisco. Out of the blue, I decide I need one of those cars. The Cobra was pricy for me then even though they were only about 6-10k as I remember. I ended up purchasing a 1956 AC Ace in Beverly Hills around Thanksgiving. It was powered by a 3.5 Jag engine. I had that car for some 30 yrs. and upgraded power to 260 Ford. In addition to the 56 Ace, which is the open cockpit roadster, I restored another 59 Ace. There was also an equally beautiful coupe manufactured by AC known as Aceca. I subsequently restored a 56 and then a 59 AC Aceca. Needless to say I have a lot of the limey DNA in me as my mom was a Scot and my dad a Brit. Actually, I am a Brit by birth. There you have it. I put Ace and Aceca together and that is my handle.
