Hi all. When fitting new exhaust collars, do I need to put in crush washers as well?

I would. (if it isn't the 850 MkIII type pipe fitting?)

Collars

It's a MkII 850. There is no crossover on the primary. Is that the difference from a MkIII?

No, generally the 850 models would *originally* have left the factory with the balance pipe arrangement.
The 850 MkIII has a different pipe to cylinder head seating with no sealing washer.
