That's it , no more poppings from the complex restrictive crossover pipe original bean can system. I'm glad it's gone , happy with the new custom MK111 downtubes built to clear the primary side and mated to the reverse cone peashooters using 2 barrel roller type pipe to muffler clamps. The Norton sounds like a Norton should now. Test ride had no poppings on fully closed throttle over run and I'm confident with it enough to go on a 2 day 300 km. fishing trip tomorrow. Plugs look good with a light gray colour , bike pulls strongly. This is a RH 10 head , .40 over 850 pistons rebore using 2 32mm Amals with tapered to 30 mm. intake ports , 3 1/2 slides (coated type for premiers) , aluminum needles , stay up floats , extended idle screws and throttle stop screws with new O-rings ( lightly smeared with silicone grease) ,extended ticklers , needle at highest needle position ( I think , not about to pull tops to look ) . no enrichener choke system , plugs in tops to seal that up , teflon linered cables that do not see oil , stock plastic airbox with new filter and hoses.
Wish me luck fishing and I'll pull the plugs when I return for a colour inspection.
