Maybe I am just not well informed but I haven't seen any of Murray's work before, but these guys are just awesome. His business is Cycle Craft Engineering and they are in Perth Australia, they don't have a web site yet but they do have a Facebook page with all of their contact information on it. They have a lot of photos of their work, and it looks to me like they do some really outstanding general repair and machine work especially their cylinder head fin repair!

Yes Murray does quality work, he knows his stuff, I have been supplying him parts for quite a few years.
I dont know if it was mentioned here but he designed a very neat air filter box for the CNW elec start. Makes me more interested
in Matts kit now
Don

I can vouch for Murray's work. A nice bloke too. Always have interesting conversations with him.

That is a really lovely bike and the link is a good read. I find it interesting that people think the horsepower figure is so important. Personally I'd be more interested in the shape of the torque curve, because that is what makes a commando engine really good. Anyone who has ever ridden a two-stroke and turned into a stiff head-wind knows that top end horsepower is not everything.

You should try and erase all this small 2 stroke cr*p comparisons from your mind, for here anyway ?

Or take a good Commando for a spin on a road...
A large old long stroke big twin like a Commando ain't ever going to be short of torque !
Even if its been tuned to the n-th degree ?

Lovely cafe bike.
And detail work.
Looks almost a bit Ducati-ish ?

What a stunner!
Magnificent craftsmanship all around.
I would love to see a video of the primary side of the bike while the engine is operating.

It is a very nice looking bike, but why does every body take the two into one exhaust out over the left hand side cover, the only one you need to access if you have a brake down, battery fuses tools all under the left hand side cover

Because the oil tank is on the opposite side. Running the exhaust next to it would keep the oil hot.

Plus the the kickstart might be an issue on a high level exhaust.

Oiltank was my thought but that should be easily shielded, running the bike keeps the oil hot to
kickstart hadn't thought of that

I thought the front brake setup in one of the picture albums on their FaceBook page was yours Don. Looks very much like one I got from you about a year ago.

Certainly a nice build with some very interesting bits. Definitely part of my Cycle-Porn collection. ;-)

A truly stunning machine. I’ve enjoyed seeing Murray’s quality work, when I’ve visited his workshop and, yes, he does know his stuff.

Most importantly, although I try not to waste too much of his valuable time, he always takes the time to answer my inane questions. An all-round good guy.

Cheers Murray and Thanks,

Lance

Upswept left originates with American dirt track. Sliding left with right foot on peg and left foot on ground.
Upswept right makes for a toasty right leg.
Some modern day bikes have gone upswept right. Just don't look right to me.
Then again, I'm getting old.

I have known Murray from Cyclecraft for 30 odd years, and always got great help, service and Parts. he was keeping Nortons on the road when parts were not so easy to get and really knows his stuff.
On top of that, he is a great bloke and absolute Gentleman!
