Pulled the front end down today to resolve some slop in the steering head - the adjustor nut wouldn't move, just gunged up thankfully.
Interesting what you find when looking closely - 1 fork top bolt is 33mm across the flats, the other is 34.9mm (1 3/8"). Both the same at the business end.
Internals have had the Covenant conversion done. I had a read up of the RGM instructions, after putting back together of course, and see that the additional sleeve is not meant to be sliding loose, this one was and still is - so Sunday morning is spoken for then.

Don't hold your breath for a dramatic difference with the Covenant conversion. It made very little difference on my Commando. The alloy sleeve should be loose on the stanchion but snug in the slider and stay at the top below the top bush.

Thanks, checked and the sleeve fits as it should.
Anyone know what the odd fork nut sizes are from. It is a wideline frame but has 1964+ front end - wider yoke with steering lock.
