engine numbers

I have a 71 roadster with the engine number W820560P can any one tell me what the letters W & P signify ?

Those numbers are not normal engine numbers for a '71 or any Commando for that matter. The engine should be stamped 20M3S 14xxxx on the left crankcase half just under the cylinder at the front corner. (x representing the rest of the serial number)
