Just wondering if anybody can tell me the year and maybe month of my 750 commando, I am thinking 1972 combat. Same numbers on motor and gearbox, 200738.

Hi Steve, welcome. I don't have the answer you seek, but it won't be long, someone will.

Norvils list* puts that as 1972, pre Combat. 1972 production would have started late 1971.

But the proof is in the pudding, does it have all the Combat bits - and the C on the cylinder head.
Its 40 years since it rolled out of the factory, anything could have happened to it since...

* there are a few such lists, they rarely seem to exactly agree.

Officially, the first production Combat was 200976. Is it Combat specification?

It could have been built anytime from late 1971 to early 1972. The month/year of manufacture would normally be stamped on the headstock certification plate which I presume is missing?
For more detailed information, you could contact the UK NOC or VMCC who both have access to the surviving factory records for that period.
