Emgo Pistons Mismatched

Hmmmmm......dunno about you blokes, but this thread is starting to feel a bit tedious.
It didn't feel right diggin' in with the Dremel, but for some reason I had to see for myself. I certainly learnt how hard cast pistons are after chewin' through a few so called Tungsten Carbide bits. And hopefully any other amateurs stumbling on this thread might be more the wiser for it. After all, that's what we're here for - me anyway. Livin' n Learnin'.
But I will get it right !
Before I embarked on my piston mod/hack job I ordered an outside micrometer with .0001" resolution.
So, I'll be measuring pistons and bores(I have bore gauges) with the view of buying a pair of weight matched pistons of acceptable size.
As for the vice thingy.........it was only "nipped up"...............honest!
And I'll have the tool to prove it 8)

Concerning rocking - Elmzy is using .005" clearance for his cast pistons - you can use .0055" on the forged pistons. Not much clearance difference.

Agreed, although, high quality, properly shaped, cast pistons can be run tighter and that's how castings can excel.
That said, the difference is largely academic and forgings trump tuning errors that castings won't survive.
