If water or vapour gets in via the glass surround, could you try to improve seal using that low viscosity clear silicone sealant used for auto windshield seals?

I don't see why people should have to fix thiis problem themselves. Smiths should ensure their product is good before they go out the door. Not a cheap product by any means. How about a bit of accountability. I know Norton owners are required to provide their own solutions for say, the last century, but this is ridiculous.

I'm well pleased the Legendary Speedo & Tachograph I have fitted... that is until I go through Dartford tunnel that has average speed cameras fitted set at 50mph:( Just when I want to give it large to get the fantastic reverberation back off the tunnel walls:)
I am currently wiring up my Legendary Tach. Did you add a resistor to the yellow cable thats connected to the coil ? A resistor came with the kit, but its not shown anywhere in the diagram. I am bit worried about the issues with the smiths speedo and the Tri-Spark i read here (although i run a Pazon-Surefire).

No i didn't wire in the resistor, and as you state it doesn't show it on the diagram supplied, i contacted Legendary and they advised it only needs fitting if you experience interference issues. likewise i have the Paxon surefire system fitted.
One little problem i do have is when you press the horn with the engine not running the tacho needle sweeps around?? its OK when running
On the installation i found the fitting of the units very "snug" in the housing, to the point i had to open one slightly with rotary emery cloth wheels
And even now when there installed pushing them out isn't easy as i have the RGM lower plates and grommets fitted
It also suggest applying silicone around them before installation:eek: ... this i didn't do as you wont get them out especially as the housings are plastic.
What i did was to drill a couple of holes and tap M4 holes into both pods low down & discreetly hidden and purchased some short taper point stainless grub screws, these screw in and just "nip" the plastic instrument housings.
They don't lift or turn and when backed off allow the instruments to be lifted out without any hassle

Thanks för your reply. I glued the Instruments into Place with Silicone. Additionally ive cut m6 Threads into the mounting holes down in the Cups to install some plastic discs that Hide Away the cables.
