Any one have any experience with these seats?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Norton-C ... 5886b0d70d

they are from Vietnam which raises plently of suspicion. but they do appear to be on the correct seatpans. Just thought they might be worth a look.

Cheers,

john

No but i've communicated via email w/ the guy about interstate seats (which he didn't have) and he seems OK and enjoys talking about his products and believes in them - of course they always do until you get taken
that being said he does have very good feedback - maybe you can contact someone who also purchased one of the seats (easy to do from the feedback area) to ask how the quality is....

Seats from Vietnam, tanks from Pakistan. What the hell is going on? I like my made in USA Corbin seat and my made in Canada tank, thank you. It gripes my ass I have to use a made in China computer.

Global market place. That is what is going on. Get used to it. We will be seeing more of it believe me. Unfortunately it leaves a lot of people out of work in the US, UK, EU and CA. Luckily or not, I'm retired and don't have to deal with it.

I'd like to hear more about these Canadian tanks, as the one on mine suffered the wrath of the previous owners ex-wife and her ball bat. I may have it beaten back into some sort of shape, but would also consider a new one. I'd keep the old one to use as an educational aid.

Logic might not work with this one.

I ride a Norton. I'm not about to hang some crap, made in a communist country or a country killing our US soldiers, on it.

Swoosh,
I think you hit the ball right out of the park.

I don't actually disagree with Jim on being selective with where the parts are sourced. He gave valid reasons to avoid some countries. I tend a little differently about it, that capitalism breeds democracy. Think of how closed China was some 30-40 years ago. In a few years we may see even more democracy there.

But enough geopolitical banter.

Those Vietnamese seats look like a knockoff of the Corbin for under $200.

Agreed, I got a little to political here. Sorry.

Aside from checking w/ another buyer check and see how's the return policy in case your not satisfied.

I just wish there was a good way to distinguish the knockoffs from the 'quality' parts.
