Hello, new to the forum and British bikes, and am trying to identify the tank and seat a recently purchased '74 commando (MK2) came with. I think it might be an aftermarket Dunstall replica? The seat/fender mounting is obviously not original...

And a couple of how it looked on the bike when I got it (sorry, I didn't have a lot of room to back up)...

I'm restoring the bike as a roadster (with better brakes, rear sets, maybe clipons...) so if anyone has a guess as to what these would be worth (on ebay or this form) that would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

The tank looks like it already has several blisters in the gel coat from ethanol/gas. Could also be just poor prep work under the black paint.

Similar thoughts, although I'd expect the blistering to be lower down/around the seams if it was from Ethanol.
stripping off that paint would help to understand the root cause.

That does look like what it is. I don't remember any reference to Gus Kuhn in the paperwork I got with it, but will look again. I had planned to replace the tank and fender with the roadster version, but if it is original I might want to keep it. It doesn't seem original, the SS fender was cut pretty roughly (leaving just the peice that , and the Kuhn fender was attached with plumbers tape (the metal strips with holes in it). The side covers have been repainted AT LEAST once (over the old paint), I think the tank was too. I'll probably get a chance to look closer this weekend.
Thanks!

The tank and tail unit you posted are not original in any case although might be a desirable after market set up. A ‘74 850 Commando came with steel tank whichever body style was original to your machine. Even the ‘74 JPN had a steel tank under the fiberglass cover.

Sorry, I meant original as in installed by Gus Kuhn, as opposed to purchased 2nd hand by a PO.
