Dunstall Replicas

Curious if anybody has mounted these ubiquitous mufflers to their Norton? And if so, how do they sound? These are the cheap Taiwanese versions, about a $100 a pair. I'm not all that concerned about long-term durability, but am interested in a decent look and especially the exhaust note. They would serve as a temporary replacement until I can locate the real thing. Other ideas for cheap alternatives?

I bought a set for my 850 project, after seeing and hearing a pair that were installed on a Mk3. They look good and they had a nice deep healthy sound too. I think you'll like them.

I'll be ready to install mine soon, but it's going to be a while until I can fire the bike up. Will post updates...

Thanks Debbie. I've heard that they sound pretty well, just wanted to make sure they weren't too toned down to sound like a moped or the like ;-o

Ditto Debby's post. Except that they're not staying on the bike unless they are just so much better than the peashooters I have set aside.

I have an original Dunstall pair that were off my MKIII.

Someone can have the damn things if they will pay the postage. A few rust specks and scratches but no corrosion internally. Actually, I would trade them for a rear MKIII fender in great condition.

I hate the look of them and bought stainless pea shooters instead.

If I didn't already have a new set and a used set of muffs, and if I had a spare rear fender, I'd sure trade you!

Colin,

Those Dunstalls would probably bring good money on ebay, scratched and rusty though they may be. People go nuts over original Dunstall parts.

Yeah.......ebay. I hate ebay. Seriously, I will trade them for a rear MKIII fender. They are hanging at work in the rafters right now albeit a little dusty but still very useable.

I'd rather someone get them who needs them or crazy enough.......wants them. I'll never use them or have the energy to list them on ebay.

I might need a triumph conical hub for a project I'm getting together.

I don't want it to sound like I'm trying to sell these mufflers on here (because I'm not) but if someone wants to swap a part, or really wants to use them feel free contact me.

Conical hubs are something I no longer have except two that are mounted on front wheels on 2 project bikes that they are going to stay with.
