Hey guys, I just have a quick question about my Dunlop Roadmaster tt100 tire pressure. The specs on the side of the tire max out at 41 psi, this seems a bit excessive to me. I put a tire pressure guage on both the front and rear of my bike and both were reading 15 psi. I did notice a shimmy on a previous ride and figured it to be the rear tire pressure. I bumped up the tire tressure to 22 psi, I think any more than this would be too much. I know that the max tire press is there for a reason, but I think it's just too high.

Welcome. The max tire pressure on the sidewall is what the TIRE can handle, this is rarely what the chassis (whataever vehicle it's on) requires. The 15 is way too little. Operators manual says 26/24 F/R, but I find 35/42 better for my loading.

Its a compromise as the harder tires aired the sooner better the isolastics isolate and makes steering a light effort but can make ride too rough and more prone to skip out on loose stuff. Too low and tires tend to wallow into hinge onset easier and heat up to wear more. Depending on your weight try the mid-upper 20's PSI in rear with the front 2 lb lower or to point the steering just seems easier. I generally run 28 rear 26 front till my confidence in tires builds up as it has now so now run 30 rr 28 front. The general race rule of seeking cold PSI for a 10% rise once full heated tire is plain ridiculous to apply on public use tires.

Its a very good education to ride around a bit on pretty low aired tires, one at a time then both to ingrain sense of subtle handing changes just before the tube rips and all hell breaks out, it won't surprise you on the bit of reversed cvontrol to ease off to fix it.

I like 28 front and 30 rear with TT100's on my '74 Roadster and I am about 215 lbs

I find I can go with 25 as Im 100 pounds less than you.
TT100 tars.
