The TVS 961 is quoted to have a wet weight of 230kg, while looking back at magazine reviews from 2010, only the dry weight of 188kg is given. Even with a full tank and the weight of all other fluids, a difference of 44kg seems too big a difference. Has anyone actually weighted a 961 dry, or perhaps the TVS bikes are actually heavier than the earlier bikes?

506 lbs wet seems about right to me. The 961 is not a light bike. Let's not forget abs was added , evap canister , etc to the later machines. I don't what they are doing to come up to that dry figure. MAybe no battery along with all the fluids including the brake fluid ! ;)

From LCRKEN post :

Back in 2019 I measured the weight of my 2014 Sport at 507 lbs. full wet, stock except for decats, Shorai battery, SBN exhausts, and a few titanium fasteners.

Laced wheeled, early 961s curb weight is just under 500lbs.
Mine weighed in at 498lbs.
BST wheeled, early ones maybe - 15lbs less.
ABS versions definitely are heavier, ABS pump, evap canister, different rear subframe for 2 up seat....
Norton website (Donington company) always posted laughably low weight numbers.

Very interesting, my 961 feels lighter than 230kg when on the move, its only when paddling it backwards that it shows its weight. No doubt the exhaust with cat weighs a lot, while I'm surprised that the carbon wheels are so much lighter than the OE spoked wheels.

When manufacturers quote dry weight I'm told they omit all fluids, including brake fluid and even battery acid.

Given that the road going Domi SS is stripped down 961, is it much lighter than the standard 961?

Bathroom scales are surprisingly accurate, for weighing each axle and adding them together.
Regards feel, my 325kg Kawasaki 1500 Drifter feels lighter than a 961 at times 🤣

I'll weigh an SE.
The brummy 961 in comparison has very heavy wheels, inner tubes, abs module, extra brake line length, extra wiring, iacv, cat converter, steel electronics tray etc....it all adds up.

And 491.5 lbs for same bike after switching to BST carbon fiber wheels.
