I understand that concept, but wouldn't it also make sense to keep them in suspension and change it out often?
I've been using high-detergent Redline synthetic in an old Guzzi Eldorado (no oil filter) with the same results I saw in the Commando - at relatively constant oil-change intervals, the oil comes out cleaner looking over time. This program seems to be working for me.
