On factory Combat Trixie, I have measured 3/8" LH offset from center of spine in the under spine brace tube at the flats of the head steady thread bores. I can feel it just by finger judgment, so felt up Ms Peel's tube also to feel similar off set, but not measured yet - to stay in denial maybe a bit longer, as Ms Peel had her share of smack down to match Trixie's, just not by animals.

I put level on spine tube to get 90' edge to use micrometer to check R to L offsets.
So my question is - Are All Commando's made with non-centered brace tube?
Need reality check. My small tubes are welded in mid line of stem and spine. I can't see a bend-gap arc with a straight edge laid on them.
So what gives?, me on Norton factory dimensions, or the tube by brute force?

Also for extra credit, how close to center of spine-stem are your factory rear rims set - centered or 3/8" off to the LH? Rear mudguards centered in rear loop, do not center over my factory wheels/tires by ~3/8" rim LH of center.
I know the engine-gearbox or offset ~3/8" to LH, I'm told for more chain clearance.

hi steve, dont lose any sleep over what hangs out 3/8 left or right, main things are primary inline, rear chain inline, wheels inline

Hey Steve - this is not that kind of site:

"I can feel . . . . by finger . . . . felt up Ms Peel's tube . . . . . in denial maybe a bit longer, as Ms Peel had her share of smack down to match Trixie's, just not by animals."

Let's keep it clean, OK?

ugh, I ain't riding anything but still constantly spending and working on 2 Commandos, so trying to get some enjoyment for my efforts.
Trixie had center stand twisted before got her. Took 6' breaker bar to get to sit level stand. Trixie was a terror last time to get the front iso mount in. I had to put 1/4" extra cushions on plate botls on one side of head steady and thin to almost nothing the other side. She was normal acceptable smooth once power unit forced in and thought that be the end of major over hauls. Then rod bolt let go, so doing what it takes to make assembly a one man non-injurous task. I just don't know what all is wrong or should-can be changed. I've got Peel and Wes's '71 to judge Trixie by but those have had me crash em too, so still up in the air for what's normal or at least common to find in under tube centering.
