Coronavirus

Well I am starting to sweat this virus , smoked since my early 20’s ... knew risks early on and ignored , never thought nature would dream up a particular bug to attack me personally , kinda pissed at “Mom Nature” , I intend to follow all the rules as best I can and hope for the best , actually went out yesterday for bike oil and smokes got a good supply on hand now of both , hope I live long enough to enjoy them ...

Nicotine is a hell of an addiction. I smoked for 43 years. Finally quit 15 years ago. Nicorette lozenges and Nicorette gum. My doctor said to use both as long as I liked. It’s not the nicotine that harms you, it’s everything else in tobacco and the additives the tobacco companies are jazzing up their cigarettes with.

Why not give yourself a few more years to ride your Norton?

Smoke makes your lung clearance mechanism less effective. So when you get a virus the pneumonia bacteria have a better opportunity to kill you. If you stop smoking, you lung clearance improves from day one. With coronavirus, it will probably take a fair amount of time to get to most people.

Right now might be a good time to improve Youtube, by government-funding of making videos of university lectures - particularly in STEM subjects and philosophy. People who are sitting idle can still be improving their own education by using the NBN effectively. The Australian ABC's Q&A format is excellent. - 'Information was ,meant to be free'.

Looking to swap:

I have a 24 pack of toilet paper and 2 bottles of hand sanitizer. Looking to swap for a 4 bedroom bungalow near the beach,

There are two democratic political philosophies which are derived from economics - socialism and neoliberal individualism. It takes organisation to get a busload of people together to swoop on a supermarket in a country town. Perhaps we should do socialism for a while, then revert to being greedy after coronavirus has gone ?

Impossible to get fresh veg or fruit at the moment.
Going to the supermarket is like being on a really rubbish edition of ready steady cook
What can you make with a packet of gummy bears, some dried lima beans and a tin of spaghetti and sausages?

Where exactly are they still selling spaghetti and sausage???
I'm on me way

Plenty of fruit and veg in Morrisons this morning (sorry!)… but luckily for me nobody else seems to like fig rolls :)
Never thought I'd suffer baked bean withdrawal symptoms, though :-(

If we don't make sure that vulnerable and elderly people get provisions then the greedy bastards panic buying will be responsible for people starving to death. The panic buyers make me puke, if I see one I'm gonna punch his lights out

Wish lima beans were to be found here. No beans, rice, pasta of any sort to be found. Meats & dairy come in odd times of day then get snapped up quickly. Potatoes becoming scarce as they are the new target for hoarding.

Think we know where the foods going, same here in AUS

The Health Survey for England 2017 estimates that 28.7% of adults in England are obese and a further 35.6% are overweight but not obese. Obesity is usually defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above. BMI between 25 and 30 is classified as 'overweight'

When John Howard was prime minister of Australia, he put the Australian Government Analytical Laboratories on a 'user pays' basis. That means the costs of tests are put back onto the budgets of the inspection authorities. Much of the food we eat in Australia is imported. How much food testing do you think gets done, these days ?
