Are all Norton Commando Seat Pans the same? eg. Intersate, Roadsar all year models?

The '70 'S'/Roadster is quite different from later Roadster pans. I had a later style pan on mine for a bit (seat was sold as fitting a '70), and it rubbed, cracked my side panels.

I wasn't aware of this but it is good info to have. I saw an early seat on Ebay and wondered about the different appearance from underneath. The main difference between the Roadster and the and Interstate being were it sits in relation to the tank. The interstate sits further back to accomodate the larger tank.

Technically the interstate seat doesn't sit further back, it is actually shorter in the front and longer in the back, because the mounts are in the same relationship to the frame and tank pressings, which also makes it wider behind the tank.
