You should be able to get a fiber washer at any auto parts store. I use teflon tape, as the taps on mine don't have a locknut, the hex is part of the body casting.
Mine are fitting with O-rings, seems to work fine.
I actually had to go look up Stat O-seal. Those look terrific for a lot of apps!
