Changing the oil on my Mk3 again 3000 miles.
Surely there must be a Commando funnel for sale to allow this oil drain to happen without screwing around with duct tape or other options.
Maybe a picture of a nice solution, not a written description please.
Not looking for an elaborate system , simply a clip in place funnel with large hose .
Thank you.

There was a thread here a month or so ago on this. Several others and myself are using these plastic covered aluminum devices which may be shaped and folded to channel the oil to a container. These are reusable and easily cleaned for the next time. I got mine from amazon. Inexpensive too.

A common 8" plastic funnel into an empty gallon oil jug, sat on top of a box of paper towels.

Here's that thread: https://www.accessnorton.com/NortonCommando/new-favorite-shop-accessory.32380/

Also, really helpful when you take the primary cover off - if you could find one 2-3" longer it would be even better for the primary.

What a lot of you guys overlook is the forward thinking that went on at Norton and the intelligence of the design.

The Commando oil drainage is a case in point. The design is elegantly simple yet effective.

Step 1: Park the bike for a while and the tank drains into the sump.

Step 2: Remove sump plug and drain oil.

No funnels, no fuss, no mess.

Simple, forward thinking British ingenuity.

;)

Also recognising that owners becoming used to wet sump Jap bikes would be able to change the oil by their usual process. True genius.

That's the one I've got... Really like it. Puddles in my shed have practically ceased since I began using it.

It seems pretty wasteful to buy yet more crap made in China. I simply roll a large piece of glossy magazine stock paper into a funnel
shape. Trim with scissors with it terminating into a metal funnel inserted into a gallon plastic jug positioned at an appropriate height.
No big deal.

Some of us are just enthralled by new trinkets and toys.
China? Harrumph! What they don't already own here fearless leader shall quickly enough give them free of charge.

This is the oil drain tool I was looking for.

The formafunnel is made in the USA, probably why it's more expensive.

Do you have an old world collection of glossy magazines you don't read?

Haven't bought one for maybe a decade!

While browsing Amazon for this flex funnel, this came up:

Guess it could have a Norton appplication too ;-)
In the mid-90s I was doing some work at Johnson Space Center in Houston, and was in the storage rooms of the museum. One of the more interesting items (other than the big cardboard box labeled "moon rocks") was a stadium buddy that looked very much like this that was designed in the Apollo era.not pink tho...
