Commando Identification

Hey guys,

Picked up a bike that I am having a hard time identifying. Serial number on the frame tag is 136608 and engine number is 20M3S/136608. Seems like all the charts don't include this number. Bike has a fiberglass tank that looks like it was originally yellow. Can anyone help me as to what year it is? Also, would it be an S model bike?

Yes they do.
Try
http://www.bmh.com.au/norton/index.php?id=modelnum
and it comes up as a 1970 number.

The number won't indicate what model it was built as, so what it is now is a possible indicator of that.
Bearing in mind they were built in a limited range of possible types then.
And a Previous Owner could have done ANYTHING to it. !

The last S Type was supposed to have been 135088 so it's likely to be a 1970 Roadster.
